My P90X Experience

Author: Cliff

So I decided to start a new workout program. At the beginning of 09 I decided to do a Cardio program and diet and I did drop 30 pounds but gained no muscle which I wasn't expecting to. Now I decided I want to build muscle and look good without a shirt on.

I have just completed Day 2 and OMG!!!! I hurt from my thighs all the way up to my shoulders. Every muscle in between aches more than I have ever felt. I am not following the diet plan like I should but I figured that if I workout like I am supposed to, I am still going to build muscles and get a cut, it probably just won't be as dramatic as it can be.

BCS, We need a play-off now more than ever!!!

With 5 teams undefeated, the BCS has of course chosen 2 teams from the biggest conferences to go to the Title game. I like Texas and all but really? How can one decide who is better when you have 5 teams that are 12-0 or 13-0? The answer is simple, have a playoff. I understand that the bowl games bring in a lot of revenue of the schools. My proposal, just throw the top 8 teams into a playoff and let the other 60 teams have their bowl games. With this, the other schools still make there money and the top 8 make even more. Lets weigh in the Pros and Cons.

PROS
BCS
• Creates a playoff atmosphere throughout the season.
• Uses the traditional college bowl games

Playoff
• Decides the better team in head-to-head competition.
• Would be easy to implement using the current system of Bowl games.
• Would create a lot of interest and excitement in post-season play.
• Would eliminate, or at least limit, doubt or controversy.
• The majority of fans seem to want it.
• A playoff system seems to work just fine in I-AA, II and III.
• It's the only fair way to decide who the best team is.
• Adding another Bowl game to hold a true national championship game would generate millions of dollars.

CONS
BCS
• Allows the National Champions to be crowned based on statistics and personal opinion.
• Produces a controversial champion as often as it produces an undisputed winner.
• One off game can eliminate a team from contention.
• Smaller non-BCS conferences are at a disadvantage.

Playoff
• Would diminish the value of the regular season.
• An already-long season would have to be extended.
Would take more time away from acedemics.
Where It Stands
The current BCS contract runs through the 2010 bowl season, so we may not see a playoff system in major college football for quite some time.

Facebook

I finally joined Facebook. Jen has friends who have been bugging and bugging her so we set her an account up. I went ahead and did one for me as well. Didn't have it up for 24 hours and I was overwhelmed with the flood of comments and emails. Looks like I found the place to catch up with everybody.

Just one more thing to add to my list...

My car got broken into this weekend. Jen took it to work Saturday and worked a 6a to 6p shift. When she got off, she found my car in ruins. Somebody busted out the drivers side window and stole my Garmin, Radar Detector, and MP3 player. I met Jen at work and the cops came and took down all the info. Another guy came and searched for finger prints on the outside of the car but couldn't locate one. He didn't seem to interested in finding a print to be honest. Our insurance says we have a $500 deductible per claim. So basically I am going to be out $500 for this. Oh and they don't cover the stolen items besides the Garmin. What a crock? So today, I am searching for a new driver window, new insurance, and new electronics to replace the ones I lost. When it rains it pours and my days have been glum as of late.
